Lady Velvet Cabaret

The Terms & Conditions below apply to classes taken at Lady Velvet Cabaret, WA Performance School (WAPS) and any other subsidiary or location Lady Velvet Cabaret (LVC) deems suitable.

Fees and Payment

An annual registration fee of $35 per student applies to all Lady Velvet Cabaret and WA Performance School ongoing course (12 week term) students, to cover administration, insurance and music licensing costs. This must be paid on commencement of classes and is valid until the end of the calendar year.

All fees (registration and tuition) are due before you start your first class. Accounts not paid within the first week of term will incur a $25 administration fee for late payment of account and are payable immediately. Any eligible discounts will also be removed from the account.

If full tuition AND late fee is not paid within 30 days of the due date (first class of term), then class restrictions will apply.

Private tuition fees must be paid at least 24 hours prior to the first scheduled lesson in order to confirm the booking. Any changes made to private lesson bookings must be advised with at least 24 hours’ notice (in writing via email to info@ladyvelvetcabaret.com.au or phone (08) 9388 6970 to advise reception staff), otherwise full payment will still apply for the lesson.

Accounts not settled within a reasonable timeframe will be forwarded to a collection agency. All costs incurred with collection agencies are payable to the account holder.

Refunds are not available. A credit may be allowed under exceptional circumstances, but must be approved and signed off by management prior to processing. If you have any difficulty paying your fees by due dates, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss.

General Class Etiquette

  1. Please give the studio a call or quick email or SMS if you are planning to be absent.
  2. If you have an injury, you (or your parent/guardian if applicable) must let your teacher know before class. Any injury incurred on our premises must be reported immediately so that urgent medical attention can be sought if necessary. Please note that teachers and assistants may need to make physical contact with students to guide them and prevent injuries.
  3. Classes will start on time and will not wait for latecomers. Students are welcome to arrive 10-15 minutes before class to stretch by themselves and ensure they are ready to join in on time.
  4. Please name all of your belongings. Lost property will be kept at the studio for 2 weeks and will then be discarded if unnamed and unclaimed.
  5. Any changes to class enrolments and personal details must be advised to reception in writing via email to info@ladyvelvetcabaret.com.au. Teachers are subject to change at any time at the discretion of Lady Velvet Cabaret (LVC).

It is assumed that all students in group classes will continue to attend their same classes each term. If this is not the case, please advise the studio in writing (see Re-enrolment, below).

Re-enrolment

Term to term re-enrolment in ongoing group classes at LVC is automatic (within the calendar year). Students will be automatically re-enrolled into the same classes as the previous term, with an account statement and enrolment summary sent out during the school holidays to confirm. If you do not wish to be re-enrolled, or want to make changes to your classes, you must advise management in writing via email to info@ladyvelvetcabaret.com.au.

Private students may be required to confirm their attendance term-by-term in order to secure their preferred day and timeslot. Re-enrolment from one year to the next is not automatic and must be completed by the student once the next year’s timetable is released.

Multiple Class Pass students passes expire 6 months from date of purchase. There will be periods during the year where no classes operate. Validity is based on the calendar year and students should check our timetable and term dates prior to purchase.

Choreography and Copyright

All performance routines choreographed and rehearsed at LVC remain the intellectual property of LVC. Permission must be sought and given by management in writing in order to perform choreography outside the school, which may incur a fee. Under Australian Copyright Laws, using any choreography or part thereof without written permission is strictly forbidden.

Liability, Damage & Personal Injury

Despite LVC taking full precautions and protective measures, accidents and injuries may occur. By enrolling into LVC, the student/parent/guardian (you) assumes all risks related to the use of any and all spaces at LVC. You agree to release and hold harmless LVC including its teachers, members, staff members, and facilities used by LVC from any cause of action, claims, damages, or demands now and in the future. You will not hold LVC liable for any injury or any personal property damage, which may occur on the premises before, during or after classes. Furthermore, you agree to ensure that you obey2 the class, its rules, safety procedures, and facility policies. Students rehearse and perform at their own risk.

In the event that you should observe any unsafe conduct or conditions before, during or after your classes, you agree to report the unsafe conduct or conditions to the instructor or staff member as soon as possible.

Media Release

Permission is granted to use the performer’s first name, photographic and video images on Lady Velvet Cabaret or WA Performance School website, brochures, newsletters, newspaper advertisements, and any other promotional material, where the image or footage is taken as a result of a school related event or activity.

Concert

Participating in external performances, including cabaret graduation showcases and the studio’s end of year concert may incur concert fees and additional rehearsals.

Students are required to be at all rehearsals outlined in the Concert Information Packs in order to participate in the end of year concert. Advise reception via email to info@ladyvelvetcabaret.com.au if you know you will not be able to perform.

Short Courses & Workshops

Trials or casual sessions are not available for short courses or workshops, and multiple class or family discounts do not apply to these classes. Please note your performance fees may be included in your short course fees (check with administration if you have questions). Last minute cancellations (those with 5 days or less notice before workshop day) cannot be refunded or offered a credit – all bookings are finalised at this point to ensure the workshop or course can go ahead as planned.
