The Pinup has long been an icon of glamour and seduction – whether cheeky or saucy, channel your inner pinup girl with our regular Vintage Pinup one day workshops!
Join us throughout the year for regular Vintage Pinup one day workshops with our Cabaret starlet Cece Desist, and our talented photographers, either Wild Kat, or Claire Alexander – both leaders in their fields.
Spend the day immersed in vintage glamour as you explore your inner pinup character and learn tips and tricks from experienced makeup artist and wig stylist Cece Desist.
Whether you’re an experienced pinup just looking to expand your portfolio and enjoy an afternoon of glam girly fun, or you’re a fresh new face looking for a friendly introduction into the world of vintage pinup modelling, this workshop is right for you. Covering important topics like posing, styling and costume, hair and make-up, props, theme and character, this workshop is based on the popular model from our 2013 season at Perth International Fashion Festival.
You’ll receive, and have the option to purchase extra photos after the session, which you are free to use for social media, a professional pinup portfolio, or even a gift for someone special!
Each studio workshop has a different seasonal theme, and some are even set on location at unique spots around Perth – this means you can join us multiple times and build up a great portfolio of themed shots. Sticking to the theme is not compulsory, but it’s a great way to get inspired and have some fun.

Frequently Asked Questions
I've never modelled or performed before - will I be able to do this?
Of course! Our open and beginner courses are designed for complete ADULT beginners who have either never learned before, or are perhaps coming back after an extended break from the style. Check the
timetable to see if a more advanced class is available for you. If you wish to perform, you can participate in a spectacular showcase at the end of each year.
Can I trial a class first?
Sorry, no! These are one-day workshops only.
How long do classes go for?
Classes usually run 3 hours, though this may change for special events. Check the
event details for more info.
What should I wear/bring to each class?
You’ll need to bring your pinup essentials! Costume and prop pieces, as well as hair and make-up supplies. We may have some theme-specific props available but it’s best to bring extras – it’s also fun to share with other students! We will send you a document with a list of our favourite products to give you an idea of what to bring.
Are there costs associated with the photography?
For an affordable cash payment, you will receive 3 edited photos from Wild Kat which you are free to use for social media.
When do I need to pay?
All payments are due in full at least 7 days prior to the commencement of the course in order for your place to be secured. You can pay online 24/7 using your student portal account (if you need help logging in, or have not received your invoice, please email us for assistance). Please note that last minute cancellations (5 days or less notice before workshop day) cannot be refunded or offered a credit – all bookings are finalised at this point to ensure the sessions can go ahead as planned.
Are there costs associated with the photography?
Yes – check with the LVC team to find out whether your course costs include your first 2 edited photos, or whether they are charged separately. Extra edited photos can always be purchased directly from your photographer!
