Experience the glitz and glam of the cabaret! From the Las Vegas stages to the Tropicana in Cuba, you will learn a variety of dance styles that will transform you into a true Cabaret Showgirl, combined with the modern jazz seen in musical theatre ensembles.
Taught by Perth’s own award winning cabaret starlet Cece Desist, this course will rotate styles each term to give you a true peek behind the curtain at the wide range of dance styles that professional showgirls perform. From Showgirl, Chorusline, Broadway and more, you’ll feel sexy and glamorous as you continue to develop your technique, refine elegant movements, and incorporate new skills into your routines.
This is an open class, with dancers of all abilities welcome, however taking extra classes such as modern jazz or ballet is recommended to help you get the most out of this exciting new course.

How much does it cost?

I've never danced or performed before - will I be able to do this?
Yes! As an open class, this course welcomes dancers of all ages, fitness levels, genders, shapes and sizes, however we do recommend taking extra classes such as ballet or modern jazz to help you get the most out of this exciting course.
Can I trial a class first?
Your first Lady Velvet Cabaret trial class is $15 so you can try before you enrol. Any subsequent trials (including trials of other styles) will be billed at the $25 Casual rate. If you are looking to attend on a more casual basis, you should consider our Multiple Class Pass.
The term has already started, can I still join?
Yes! We take enrolments at any time of year (check out our timetable
here). Fill out an
enrolment form and we will be in touch to confirm your payment and book you in for the remainder of the term!
Am I right for this class?
At Lady Velvet Cabaret, our studio is inclusive and everyone is welcome! Our adult dance classes are open to any persons 18 years of age or over. Adult students have always been welcome at LVC regardless of their age, gender expression, sexuality, prior experience, abilities*, cultural background, religion, weight or fitness level.
Intermediate/Advanced classes do have pre-requisites in terms of technical skills, however our Beginner and Open ability classes welcome any interested students. It’s never too late to learn, so please
get in touch to enrol, or find out more.
*Please note that depending on location, some lessons are not wheelchair accessible.
How long do classes go for?
Each class runs for 1 hour long each week.
What should I wear/bring to each class?
Comfortable clothing or activewear will be fine, such as leggings, shorts and a form-fitting top. You should be able to move comfortably in your clothing. Most routines will require heels. Please bring a bottle of water and a towel!
Will I get a discount if I enrol in other classes?
Yes! Enrol in two courses with us and you’ll receive 5% off your class fees. Enrol in three courses and you’ll receive 7% off your class fees. Enrol in four courses and you’ll receive 8% off plus your fifth course will be free!
What if I want to attend casually?
If you cannot commit to attending regularly, you should consider our Multiple Class Pass. Once your $30 Annual Registration fee has been paid, you can purchase either a 5 Class Pass for $110 or a 10 Class Pass for $190. Your Class Pass will allow you to enter any of our ongoing courses (not 6 week or one day workshops), provided they are not full. Class Pass holders will have to register at reception each session to have their pass stamped. If you’re interested in purchasing a Class Pass, contact us today!
